1. Who we are
Ubuuus is a platform by Spiicy Labs, based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic ("Ubuuus", "we"), for finding, buying and managing intercity bus tickets in the Dominican Republic. Bus companies also use it to run their ticket office, boarding and fleet.
Contact: contact@spiicylabs.com.
2. What you agree to
By using the Ubuuus website or app, or by buying a ticket, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. The role of Ubuuus and of the bus company
- Ubuuus sells the ticket on behalf of the company that runs the trip. That company is shown in search results, at payment and on the ticket.
- The company provides the transport: schedules, vehicle and driver; luggage, boarding and safety on board; and its own travel rules. It is responsible for the trip.
- Ubuuus is responsible for the platform: that the purchase is recorded correctly, that the ticket arrives and that the change, transfer and refund tools work.
- Each company sets its prices, passenger categories, and change and refund deadlines.
4. Account
- You do not need an account to buy on the web. You do need one to manage tickets in the app (changes, transfers, refunds, tracking).
- You can sign in with your email or phone number, or with Google or Apple.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account. If you think someone accessed it without permission, write to us.
- You can request account deletion at any time from the app. The account is deleted 90 days after the request; signing in again before then cancels the deletion. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
5. Buying a ticket
- Price: the price you see is the one the company sets. Ubuuus adds no fees for passengers. If a company charged a fee of its own, it is shown separately before you pay.
- Seats: depending on the company, you choose your seat or the company assigns it.
- Seat hold: while you pay, the seat is held for a few minutes (5 on the web). If time runs out, the seat is released and you can hold it again if it is still free.
- Passenger categories: adult, child, student or others the company defines. Some require proof of age or an ID at boarding. If it cannot be shown, the company may charge the difference or refuse boarding under its rules.
- Payment: by card, through dLocal, our payment provider. Ubuuus does not see or store your full card number. Your bank may approve or decline the charge.
- Confirmation: the purchase exists once you see the confirmation and receive the tickets by email. Each ticket has a QR code.
- Email per ticket: you can give a different email for each ticket. If it belongs to a Ubuuus account, the ticket appears in that account.
6. Using the ticket
- Show the QR code when boarding, on your phone or printed. The company scans it; each ticket is valid for one boarding.
- Arrive as early as the company asks. If the bus has already left, the missed-trip rule applies (section 7).
- Do not share or copy the QR code. If someone else uses it first, the ticket counts as used.
7. Changes, transfers and refunds
Each company sets its own deadlines, and you will see them before paying.
| What | How it works |
|---|---|
| Change trip | Up to the deadline the company sets before departure, if it allows changes. If the new trip costs more, you pay the difference. |
| Transfer to someone else | From the app, to another Ubuuus account, if the company allows it. The recipient must accept it. |
| Refund | Up to the deadline the company sets before departure, under its conditions. |
| Missed trip | If you did not board, you can request a refund within the period the company sets, if it offers one. |
| The company cancels or delays the trip | We notify you by email and help you change trips or request a refund. |
When a refund goes back to your card, the money arrives within the time your bank sets.
8. What you may not do
- Resell tickets as a business without the company’s authorization.
- Use the service for fraud, or with cards that are not yours or that you are not allowed to use.
- Try to access other people’s accounts, data or systems, or overload the service.
- Copy, bulk-extract or reuse the site’s data (schedules, prices) without permission.
We may suspend accounts or cancel purchases that break these rules. If we cancel a purchase, we notify the person and refund the money, except in cases of fraud.
9. Availability and errors
- We do our best to keep the service running at all times, but there may be outages or maintenance.
- If a price is published with an obvious error, the company or Ubuuus may cancel the purchase and refund everything paid.
- Live bus information and estimated arrival times are approximate.
10. Liability
Ubuuus is not responsible for the transport service itself (section 3), or for events beyond our control: force majeure, third-party outages or network failures. None of this limits your rights under consumer protection law.
11. Intellectual property
The Ubuuus brand, the site, the app and their content belong to Spiicy Labs or to those who licensed them to us. The bus companies’ brands belong to them.
12. Complaints
- Write to contact@spiicylabs.com with your order number (it starts with "UB-").
- If the problem is with the trip, we pass it on to the company and help you resolve it.
- You can also go to Pro Consumidor.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will announce changes on the site and, for important changes, by email. A purchase is governed by the terms in force when it was made.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic.
